Chrona is a privacy-first browser extension that helps users understand how they spend time on websites. Privacy is a core design principle of Chrona. All browsing statistics are processed and stored locally on your device. Chrona does not operate any servers, does not require an account, and does not transmit your browsing data anywhere.
To measure active browsing time, Chrona processes limited information provided by Chrome while the extension is running, including:
Chrona does not record page contents, search queries, form data, passwords, messages, or anything you type.
The processed information is used solely to calculate browsing time statistics and display them in the extension's popup and dashboard.
All calculations are performed locally within your browser.
Chrona stores information locally using Chrome's storage.local API. This may include:
This information never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it using a future feature provided by the extension.
Chrona does not sell, rent, share, or transfer your browsing data or any other information to third parties.
The extension does not communicate with external servers for analytics, advertising, or tracking purposes.
All JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other executable code is packaged with the extension. Chrona does not download or execute remote code, JavaScript, or WebAssembly.
Because all processing occurs locally within your browser, your browsing statistics remain under your control. No cloud services or online databases are used.
If this Privacy Policy changes, the updated version will be published alongside future releases of the extension.
For questions regarding this Privacy Policy, please contact the developer through the Chrome Web Store listing.
