Chrona is a privacy-first browser extension that helps users understand how they spend time on websites. Privacy is a core design principle of Chrona. All browsing statistics are processed and stored locally on your device. Chrona does not operate any servers, does not require an account, and does not transmit your browsing data anywhere.

Information Processed

To measure active browsing time, Chrona processes limited information provided by Chrome while the extension is running, including:

• The active website's domain (hostname)
• The amount of time spent on the active website
• User-defined website categories
• Extension preferences and settings

Chrona does not record page contents, search queries, form data, passwords, messages, or anything you type.

How Your Data Is Used

The processed information is used solely to calculate browsing time statistics and display them in the extension's popup and dashboard.

All calculations are performed locally within your browser.

Local Storage

Chrona stores information locally using Chrome's storage.local API. This may include:

• Daily browsing time summaries

• User preferences
• Dashboard settings
• Tracking state required for accurate time measurement

This information never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it using a future feature provided by the extension.

All JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other executable code is packaged with the extension. Chrona does not download or execute remote code, JavaScript, or WebAssembly.
